Computing

Computing is an important subject at Easebourne as it helps teach our children how to thrive in an increasingly digital world. We aim to equip our children with the skills and knowledge required to utilise a range of computing hardware and software, develop an awareness of how technology can help improve the lives of others, and to ensure people are treated with respect and kindness online. This helps to prepare our children with the skills required to be responsible digital citizens in their lives beyond school.

We encourage our children to find the joy and creativity in designing and creating their own computing projects, developing their resilience as they debug and improve their work.

We offer a range of extra-curricular opportunities for children to nurture their Computing talents, such as after school clubs and national competitions. We also seek opportunities to share our learning with the wider community, through theme days such as National Online Safety Day.

Curriculum Design

Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure that key concepts are revisited each year, building on previous learning and applying previously taught skills to new contexts. Where applicable, links are made to other subject areas such as Science, DT and Maths. These meaningful connections help pupils to see how Computing fits into their wider learning, strengthening their knowledge and understanding.
